Wonder what is BB Base Cream?

The double B stands for “Blemish Balm“. This cream is said to have originated in Germany as an ointment dermatologists would prescribe to patients who have undergone laser skin surgery for its soothing and skin-regenerating properties. It started to get popular in Korea when an actress had undergone laser surgery and the BB base cream was in fact part of her daily use as cover-up as well as treatment process to recovery. It was said to be a miracle cream and because of her testimony, BB base cream had become highly sought after.

The difference between BB cream and other make-up applications is that it is a skincare/healing product combined with make-up. While regular foundation liquid does nothing to your skin , BB cream is supposed to do wonders to your skin while covering up.

BB cream can be used as a make-up base before foundation. Or some will just skip foundation all together as it already has tinted color. It can even out skin tone, camouflage under eye circles, acne scars and add radiance to the skin without the heavy mask-like effects of a foundation. Prolonged used of the product will also help improve the overall texture of the skin and fade acne scars.

Lancôme is one of the first Western (high end department store) brands I know to have a BB Cream. The full name to give it its due is the Lancôme UV Expert GN-Shield High Potency Active Protection BB Base SPF50 PA+++ High UVA PPD. Phew! Interested to try it?

Simple DIY Skin Care Tips using Fruits

Fruits in skin care? Why not? Fruits contain essential vitamins and minerals that are good for your body. What is good for your body, is definitely good for your skin. Here is a list of what the fruits can do for your skin.

Apple
A very refreshing tonic and also a great skin care treatment for oily skin! With the apple peel, you can also use it as an effective skin cleanser. Nothing goes to waste.

Mix one tablespoon of freshly squeezed apple juice with 1/4 teaspoon of lime juice.

Peaches
Peaches are high in Vitamins A and C and a natural source of alpha-hydroxy acids. These nutrients tighten the skin, unclog pores, reduce wrinkles and lighten age spots. All in all, they give you that moist, dewy peachy look, and serve as a great skin care remedy.

To get the most out of this fruity skin care treatment, gently massage the inner part of the peel on your face for a few minutes before you retire for the night. This will provide a thorough cleansing action on your skin and take off all the dirt that might have accumulated in your pores during the day.

Watermelon
Watermelon along with being a juicy and succulent fruit can also be used as an effective skin care treatment. Watermelon is very useful for removing blemishes on the skin

To effectively remove those unsightly blemishes on your skin, try applying fresh watermelon juice. Simply extract enough juice from a small slice of watermelon and apply it over your face and neck. Leave it on for about fifteen minutes to get the best results. Rinse the juice off your face and neck using warm water. Splash your face and neck with cold water afterwards to close your pores.

Bananas
This fruit has cellulose, protein, potassium, provitamin A, macrocells, organic acid (apple one mainly), vitamins C, B, PP and E. Pulp of banana used in cosmetic masks has perfect emollient, moistening and smoothing effects. That’s why masks from bananas are very useful and necessary for all women.

Mash one overripe banana and spread onto face. Rinse off after 15 to 30 minutes with warm water.
